Polyimide tape is a special tape made of polyimide film (PI film) as the base material and coated with high-temperature-resistant silicone or acrylic adhesive on the surface. Its core material, polyimide, is called "the top of the polymer material pyramid" and has extreme temperature resistance and chemical stability.
Core characteristics and advantages
High temperature resistance: long-term working temperature range -20°C to +260°C.
Excellent insulation: dielectric strength up to 6kV/mm, suitable for high-voltage environment.
Chemical corrosion resistance: acid, alkali, organic solvent resistance, and avoiding oxidation of electronic components.
Ultra-thin and high-strength: thickness can be as low as 25μm, tensile strength > 120N/cm².
Core application areas of polyimide tape
Electronic industry: PCB board protection, SMT patch shielding, flexible circuit board fixing.
Aerospace: motor insulation, high temperature environment sealing.
Automobile manufacturing: battery pack insulation, wire harness bundling.
Industrial field: laser engraving shielding, sandblasting protection.
Emerging scenarios: 5G equipment, semiconductor packaging.
Technology upgrade direction
Ultra-thin: 12μm ultra-thin tape (suitable for microchip packaging).
Functional composite: conductive PI tape (replaces traditional EMI shielding materials).
Environmentally friendly adhesive: bio-based acrylic adhesive (reduces VOC emissions).
